Lines & Hexa is a great game for two players usually(althoughup to four can play), and is a very good game for childrenbecausethe rules are quite easy. It has gone by many othernames,including the dots and boxes, game ofdots, boxes,squares, dot to dot grid, and pigsin a pen. Thegame plays really well for children, and yet can beplayed quiteseriously, if you want to exercise the brain cells. Atthe simplelevel, the winner appears to be a matter of chance; atthe analyticlevel, the winner will probably be the first one whocan analyzethe end game correctly. All you do (on your turn) is tojoin twonext-door dots on the grid, drawing a line and trying tocomplete ahexagon. Each time you make a hexagon, you must takeanother turn.If you fail to make a hexagon, the other (or next)player thentakes his turn to draw a line. ---- HOW TO PLAY Startingwith anempty grid of dots, players take turns adding a singlehorizontalor diagonal line between two unjoined adjacent dots.Theplayer who completes the sixth side of a Hexagon earns onepointand takes another turn(regardless of which player had drawntheother segments of that hexagon). If you fail to make a hexagon,theother (or next) player then takes his turn to draw a line. Thegameends when no more lines can be placed.
